Sinopse: Uma jovem actriz francesa que fala a língua da sua mãe, o português, chega pela primeira vez a Lisboa, onde vai rodar um filme baseado nas Lettres portugaises. Deixa-se fascinar por uma freira que reza na capela da N. Sra do Monte. Durante a sua estadia, a jovem trava conhecimentos, que, à imagem da sua existência anterior, parecem efémeros e inconsequentes. Mas, após uma noite em que fala com a freira, consegue entrever o sentido da vida e do seu destino.

THE PORTUGUESE NUN [2009] by Eugène Green is the eighth feature of our filme program “Thursday Film Nights” in the context of the initiative Films to the Union. The film will be available for rental from this date onwards.
Synopsis: A young French actress who speaks her mother’s language, Portuguese, goes to Lisbon for the first time to act in a film inspired by the Letters of a Portuguese Nun. She is soon fascinated by a nun who prays at the N. Sra do Monte Chapel. During her stay, the young woman has encounters, which, much like her previous existence, seem ephemeral and without consequence. But one night, after speaking with the nun, she glimpses her destiny and the meaning of her life.
